Raisa told Camille everything on their way to the headquarters. Their fingers interlinked like they were never separated.

A weight had lifted from Raisa ’ s shoulders. She knew she could trust the pack to keep her safe deep in the mountains

"I'm sorry for what happened this morning. I had no idea that the rebels would be following you."

Raisa's jaw tightened in frustration. "Why did you bring me there if you knew it was dangerous?"

Camille hesitated before answering. "I wasn ’ t thinking. I got caught up in the moment, and I just wanted to show you a different world, a world that you ’ ve never seen before.”

Raisa didn't know what to say. She was still angry and confused, but she couldn't deny that she was also curious about the world Camille had shown her.

"I can't just forget about what happened this morning," Raisa said. "I was threatened and scared and you just left me there."

Camille's expression softened. "I'm sorry. I should have stayed with you. I won ’ t make that mistake again.”

Raisa sighed. "I don't know what to think or feel anymore. I just want to go home and forget about everything."

Camille nodded. "I understand, but you ’ ll be staying with us until this all blows over.”

“ Camille, I made it clear that I just want my normal life back.”

“ You mean the life you had without me?”

“ That ’ s not what I mean.”

“ So then, what did you mean?”

“ What I meant to say is that I wish I could get to know you better without a threat lingering down my breath.”

Camille looked down, and didn ’ t know how to reply. She knew it was a tough situation, but she had to keep Raisa safe for her own sake. It wasn ’ t about her anymore, it was about Raisa ’ s life she had to consider.

The rest of the walk was spent in silence, both women lost in their own thoughts. As Camille and Raisa walked into the headquarters of the Blackmare pack, the weight of the recent events hung heavy on both of them.

Raisa couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach ever since the rebels had threatened her life. She had never felt so vulnerable before and all she wanted was to be at home, safe and sound. But she knew that if she went home, it would be without Camille.

They walked through the halls of the headquarters, their footsteps echoing in the silence. The pack members that they passed by gave them sympathetic glances.

Raisa fidgeted nervously as they walked, her hand tightly gripping a small card. Camille could sense her unease and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "What's wrong, Raisa?"

Raisa hesitated for a moment before handing Camille the card. "The rebels, they gave me this. They wanted me to give them information about the pack's headquarters, but I refused.”

Camille's expression hardened as she looked at the card. It was plain and unassuming, with only a few obscure numbers written on it scattered in an odd fashion.
